Intent- raise awareness about scrap metal waste and the effect on the environment

content- A series of sculptures

Communication objectives-  to express a problem within society using sculpture

How they communicate the intent
- little colour- represents the colours of nature
- un-usual shapes - geometric strong shapes
- no background/ context- keeps the focus on the sculpture
- the use of scrap metal, sends a message that we waste too much and leave it to destroy the planet

Experiments over summer

  • over summer I will look at ways I can use this research to inspire my major project
  • I like the way Kostov uses natural material to create his Art and will experiment with this. I plan to go to environments (such as the beach and forest) where I can collect natural materials to use on my canvas, I may look at creating some oil paintings on pieces of wood, using them as my canvas.
  • I will explore the use of sculpture to create Art which stands out and send a powerful message. I may make models from wicker, based on my project of equality.
  • I like the idea of working with scrap metal, but do not have the correct tools for this, materislas I could experiment with are:
  • wicker
  • paper
  • paper mache
  • cardboard
  • clay
  • plasticine
  • I may also look at doing some wood etchings and printing the, to see if this media works wit my project. and the use of wood fits in nicely with using natural materials.
